Build your skills to create excellence and you will have a successful career and organization.
Here are four skills that make sense to me.
Two - have a vision. Vision is a mental journey into the unknown. Having a vision helps position you and your organization to take advantage of opportunities and chart a course to create change.
Three - focus. If everything is seen as an opportunity little gets accomplished. Determine how change will affect you, who you need to help implement the vision and have a plan with a timetable to get there.
Four - be patient. It seems the bigger the vision, the longer it takes to get there and the more people that get involved. Leave behind the emphasis on short term results and see the long term goals implemented one step at a time.
Building endowments involves all these skills. And you may never see the results. Keep the faith!
